It is a pleasure to announce that as of June 19th, 2009 our growth plans have come to fruition.  We will be providing continuing education to professionals and curious people, interested in learning more about applying systems thinking to individuals, couples, groups, organizations and communities.  Learn specific, innovative techniques developed by Yvonne Agazarian and the Systems Centered Training and Research Institute.

Systems-Centered Training Group

Monthly - Dupont Circle, DC

For anyone interested in learning!

The Systems-Centered Training and Research Institute, Inc. is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. SCTRI maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  NASW Metro chapter has also approved CEU's for this program.

SYSTEMS-CENTERED® PRACTICE a theory-driven approach allows one to efficiently promote growth and change with any size human grouping (individual, couple, group, organization, and community).  The goal of systems-centered training (SCT) is to increase common sense (intuition plus reasoning) in the here-and-now context.  This requires seeing the whole picture rather than just our part.  Shifting from a self-centered to systems-centered perspective increases emotional intelligence and relieves human suffering.

SCT SKILLS TRAINING  Participants have an opportunity to learn and practice the techniques of systems-centered practice.  The most common symptoms that bring people to seek help (i.e., anxiety, tension, somatic symptoms, depression, problematic acting out) are identified as defenses that participants can then become skillful at reducing, freeing up their energy in the here-and-now.

EXPERIENTIAL GROUP  Participants work as a member of an experiential training group using the methods and techniques of systems-centered practice to build a systems-centered group.  The group process provides the basis for the discovery that the systems we live in have a great influence on who we can be.  Members develop skills to influence the group to be the kind of system they would like to be a member of.
